I've been toying with the idea of installing one of those newfangled plastic floor tile garage floors; the kind that interlock together and come in a variety of bright colors.

Since I have a concrete floor that only God knows how many times I've repainted it only to have it flake off on my tires, I've come to the conclusion that paint is definitely NOT for me.

I briefly looked at installing a commercial-grade ceramic tile but quickly abandoned that thought when a friend told me how his wife almost cracked her head wide open on theirs when she slipped on a water-doused area.

After visiting a few sites, I came across the SwissTrax system which seems to work best for me.

Never put down the plates but I have painted the floors of the garage..... The floor paint is pretty inexpensive at less than $200 for the average garage, just make sure you do the prep work... :)

I investigated all possibilities and with a garage 60ft x 25ft even 2 pack paint was going to cost a fortune let alone race deck or similar!
I settled for second hand industrial carpet tiles and am very pleased with the result. For $700:00 I have covered the entire floor with enough left over to cover another double garage..........worth considering.

Looks nice, how can you keep the carpet clean?

Steam cleaning when necessary does a great job and if I have a spill that won't clean up I just replace the tiles with the spares I have.
Cheers.
