Is it always like this in American auto shows or just SEMA?

Not just anyone can go to Sema, correct? I thought you had to be in the auto business, or get an invitation from a business participating in the show. I had a chance to go 2 or 3 years ago, but didn't make it. The NOPI show in Atlanta has girls like this all over, but it is outside for the most part and usually very hot....temperature wise that is.
