Many of you who drive airbag-equipped sharks know how ugly the early-to-mid 1990's airbag steering wheel really is. In fact, the entire Porsche model lineup was equipped with this god-awful sight of a wheel.

Enter the 996 airbag steering wheel. Some shark owners have successfully swapped out the old unsightly wheel for this new modernized version.

I've since procured a carbon-fiber & leather 996 "Porsche-Selection" overstock steering wheel and I'm currently looking for a matching leather-clad airbag.

I'm going to start this winter project in my garage in the next few months so stay tuned for developments....:icon501:

That is something I like to see!
You are 100% right, the S4 and GTS airbag steering wheel is at least ugly...:o
But, on the other hand, I love the OEM non airbag one on my 1989 GT ;)

I prefere the non-airbag steering wheel as i previously owned a 91 model 944S2 with an airbag steering wheel.

But if i had to change my wheel i would ask for a Club sport 3 spoke steering wheel of that era. For isnstance the 968 CS without the airbag.
