Anyone changed the color of a leather dash with any luck?
Have the opportunity of picking up a perfect burgandy leather dash for a reasonable price,only problam is that my interior is black.

Try this one http://www.dynamixdyes.com/ I have use it on my 928 and 996 TT and it works perfect, and after more them a year it looks like new!

The beauty of owning a pre 90's 911/930 is being able to do just about anything in the way of repairs,maintenance and upgrades without the need of computer diagnostics.Being at the mercy of a dealership would put this car out of reach for me.Forums such as this one enables an average guy,such as myself, to own,enjoy and appreciate the the quality vehicle that Porsche is.Really like my 86 930

Turns out that the burgandy leather dash is vinyl,I remain on the prowl,with any luck the next find will be the right color.

I'm still having issues trying to find an airbag to fit my 3-spoke 996 steering wheel. In the end, dying the damn thing another color is inevitable provided that the material is leather!:rolleyes::)

From my understanding it's easier to change the color of vynal than it is to dye leather.

If that is the case, I've been looking at this project all wrong and have passed up too many vinyl airbags at good prices.:(:)
