I just wanted to share with other car enthusiasts my current project car that has occupied the last 8 months of my life. The images below and the posts below are currently from 8 months of posting progress on other web boards. I have compacted all the posts and pictures to go in chronological order.

Its been about 2 years since I sold my widebody supercharged Porsche 996. In the meantime I have been floating around between a few other cars, and finally I felt its time to build another Porsche. Having already built a crazy 996 in the past, I felt this time I really needed to top myself. The new project for 2007-2008 is converting a 996 Turbo into a 997 Techart GT Street Turbo.

Currently the car is at 3C in Culver City converting from a 996TT to a 997TT body. Thanks to Misha who helped me out with all the details and supplied hisconversion fenders.

Thanks to Mike and Todd at Evolution Motorsports EVOMS for helping me out with the engine details. I will have the Stage 4 Kit making 600HP.

Thanks to Mark and Ryan at CEC Wheels for sourcing me one of the first Techart GT Street Kits to arrive in the United States.

And finally thanks to BASF for supplying the 997 GT3RS Green paint.

I will post more pictures after we get the body kit in and prepped.

My Old Car.

This was the first time I went to see the car after the paint job. Pictures from 3C did no justice to what the car actually looked like. The car had the exhaust, turbos, and headers already removed. I will post more pictures of the progress in the next few days to come.

On a side note, the pictures just can't capture the actual color of the GT3 RS Green. Also theTechart GT Street Wing looks perfect on the car. For some reason in all the Techart promotional pics the wing looks very high. In person its actually not that tall and has a perfect height for the car.

Went to Auto Talent this weekend to check out the car. It seems they have turned into a Porsche tuning shop. Saw a 997 GT2 in person. Wow what an amazing car. Love the new carbon fiber seats. They also had a 997 GT3 and three 996 TT in there getting various work done.

Here are some updated pictures of my car. All the 997 turbo ducting is installed as well as the intercooler brackets. The HR front and rear sways are also installed as well as the K24 18G turbos, Max Speed K24 Headers, Exhaust, and the Speed Gallery 1.2 bar wastegate. The 997 TT intercoolers were test fit and they fit perfect. The car will be ready to pick up this week and then its off to the body shop to put the rear bumper on, install the new 993 vented hood and for a color sanding and buffing.

Softronic software will be loaded next week. The project is almost done. I just ordered some more carbon fiber interior parts and will unveil the car with a full blown photo shoot in a few weeks.

Some sneak pics. Car is getting ready for a photoshoot on Friday. Right now the car has 19" iforged track edition wheels. I am building a new set with 19" front and 20" rears in time for SEMA. Another problem we encountered was the 997 techart side skirt being too long. So currently we are having the side skirts cut to fit.

Ok guys here are some sneak pics of the stereo system. You guys are the first to see this before the crowd at SEMA. I had Creative Car Audio and Motorsports in Santa Fe Springs make me a custom color matched fiberglassed subwoofer box that fits arounds the GMG Racing roll bar and stills allows direct access to the suspension so I can still alter suspension adjustments such as rebound and compression. The box can also be removed for those track days when every pound matters. The entire system was color matched with BASF Glasurit 997 GT3 RS Green.

The one thing outdated with the 996 Porsche Turbo is the stereo system. The Pioneer Z2 dual din head unit behind a custom carbon fiber mounting plate updates the outdated stock head unit. I also plan on painting the two plastic covers in the trunk green next week to match.

I love the new Rockford Fosgate P3 shallow subs because they do not require as much airspace as before and fit the compact Porsche with ease. The new Power amp line from Rockford Fosgate allows me to fit two powerful amps in the trunk with room to spare. In between the fiberglassed color matched amp rack is a Rockford 10 farad Hybrid Digital Capacitor and the entire audio system is run off an Pioneer Avic Z2 with bluetooth and ipod add ons combined with a Rockford Fosfate 3Sixty Interative Signal Processor. 3 gauges from the Autometer Cobalt Digital Series measured and display the amp current, amp temp., and volts within the stereo system in a custom fiberglassed pod.

Thank you to Rockford Fosgate, BASF and Creative Car Audio and Motorsports for an amazing digital audio listening experience ,that looks as good as it sounds.

Here are some photos of my car from the 2008 SEMA show in the Mobil 1 booth.

I want to thank all the sponsors who put in a considerable amount of time and effort trying to finish this car before the deadline.

Zolti and Sam of Auto Talent www.autotalent.com , Without their expertise and all of their late nights installing everything from K24/18G Turbos, GT3 Seats, Spec Clutch, Softronic programming, etc. to even the

minuscule parts such as installing the pedals, the car would have never made it to SEMA. I am forever grateful for everything you guys have done for me.

Brian and Raj of 3C Motorsports of Culver City , Thanks for all the last minute working in making sure all the body parts and the paint work was perfect. You guys went out of your way and I deeply appreciate all your hard work. You guys are the only body shop I trust for this work.

Andy and Neil at Theory Communication and Mobil 1 for being great marketing partners on this project.

Mike and Todd at EVOMS for the Intake

Kenny at Artsian Performance for the 650HP package.

Gary and his team at Brembo/Race Technolgies for the 15" brakes front and rear brakes.

Misha at 911wings.com for his experience, parts and being a pioneer to attempt this conversion. I would have never even thought this was possible until you called me.

Brian Fox at BASF for supplying the 997 GT3RS Green paint.

Zach Luke at Rockford Fosgate thanks for the audio equipment

Dan and Rob at Agency Power for the silcone boost hoses

The Racers Group for the front and rear endlinks

Stan at toyo tires for getting me the first T1-R 345/25/20 tires

MA Carbon for supplying me as many carbon fiber parts as my heart desired.

Spec Clutch for supplying the Stage 3+ Clutch and lighten flywheel

Chris at KW Suspension for the V3 Coilovers

Paul and Mike at PLX Devices for the custom organic gauges

Broadway Engineering for getting me the first r1000

Ryan and the Team at Creative Car Audio for creating the beautiful custom stereo system
